Simi opens up on motherhood

Nigerian recording artiste, Simi has spoken about her role as a mother for the first time.

Simi welcomed her first child, Adejare with her musician husband, Adekunle Gold in 2020.

According to Simi, motherhood has made her vulnerable.

The music star made this known via her Twitter page on Sunday, February 22, 2021.

“Having a daughter has made me so vulnerable.

I want her to never be hurt, sad, insecure, in pain, confused or afraid.

The fact I won’t always be able to control these things has made me the most vulnerable I’ve ever been in my life,” she tweeted.

Simi and Adekunle Gold recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary.

The couple tied the knot on January 13, 2019, in a low profile wedding ceremony. Their wedding ceremony was met with intense criticism from social media trolls at the time due to the tranquil organization of their union.

Here is what she wrote;

“Well, 2 years on government paper and 7 years since I gree for you, you lucky man.

Through a pregnancy.

With a baby, we’re both unashamedly obsessed with.

Through a pandemic.

And it’s still you. I’ve never had to wonder if you’re in my corner. You’re still the best man I know. You should have been your own best man (don’t leave me).”

The lovebirds marked their anniversary with professions of undying love.

As a matter of fact, the mother of one recently celebrated her second wedding anniversary with hubby, Adekunle Gold.

Equally important, the couple welcomed their first child in 2020.
