Davido recounts when he had no money in Atlanta

Davido, real name David Adeleke is the son of the billionaire businessman, Adedeji Adeleke. One of the wealthiest men in Nigeria.

 

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, the Nigerian recording artiste, Davido took to his social media platforms to recount when he lived in penury with his cousins. According to the singer-songwriter, life has changed immensely since he became a superstar in Nigeria.

 

In his Instagram post, Davido mentioned that he lived in a one-bedroom apartment with his cousins, B-Red and Shina Rambo. At the time, the 28-year-old singer revealed that he was not financially buoyant despite being the son of a billionaire.

 

He mentioned that he only had a heart amassed in dreams as he had no financial support.

Here is what the singer wrote;

Damn I went to my old apartments where I used to live 12 years ago with Sina and B red!!!

As hard as it is to believe .. we had no money .. no support just us and a dream !!

12 years later! We millions in! Road to a billion 💵!!! We thank God !! Never stop believing !!”

Davido was born in Atlanta but was raised in Lagos.

 

He made his music debut as a member of the music group KB International. He also studied Business Administration at Oakwood University; before dropping out to make beats as well as record vocal references.

 

The singer rose to fame in 2011 with the release of “Dami Duro“, also the second single from his debut studio album Omo Baba Olowo (2012).

 

The album also contains six additional singles: “Back When”; “Ekuro“; “Overseas”; “All of You“; “Gbon Gbon“; as well as “Feel Alright”.

 

In 2012, he won The Headies Award for Next Rated.
