“Some Of The People Will Neglect You” – Goodluck Jonathan Speaks On Being Forgotten By Close Allies After He Left Power

Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has mentioned how capricious some people’s loyalty can be.

According to Goodluck, some people make you their priority when you find yourself in a position of power however once you find yourself no longer in that position, they leave like it never happened or they were never here.

He made this disclosure while inaugurating the 6.25km Sabon Kaura-Jos bypass road constructed by the Government in Bauchi. He lauded the Governor Bala for being with him all this while even after his tenure of office ended.

The former President said;

“It is not easy for somebody to work with you in Nigeria then, even after leaving office, that person still continues with that kind of strong relationship with you.

“I have been in government for a reasonable time, I have attained a number of levels starting from deputy governor and most of our experience is that after leaving office, some of the people you think that if they don’t see you will not eat, will just forget that you even exist.

“But this Senator Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi state, is a good brother and he has invited me to inaugurate the first major project that he has completed. That is a big honour, and it is not the only inauguration, he even named the road after me as Goodluck Jonathan road.”

Governor Bala in return disclosed that the ex-President is his mentor who has made substantial influence on his life.

In other news, the former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan talked about his thoughts about the direction of the country. He disclosed that Nigeria is moving backwards rather than moving forward.
