The latest measures in Turkey after the increase in COVID-19 cases have increased fears over Istanbul being able to host the Champions League final.

With just over a month until the Champions League final at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, there are still concerns the game may not be able to be held there.

The latest increase in positive cases in Turkey has forced the authorities to take measures. A full lockdown has been announced until 17th May, just 12 days before the final on the 29th.

Those measures imposed by Erdogan have led to people thinking what UEFA will do if Istanbul cannot host the event.

‘Sport’ raises the possibilty of Wembley hosting it or any other stadium or country which can guarantee the minimum amount of fans UEFA want.
