Florida Veterinarian Who Filmed Himself Sexually Abusing Dogs Sentenced To Prison

A Florida veterinarian has been sentenced to 21 years in federal prison relating to charges of child pornography and sexually abusing a dog. Prentiss K. Madden, from Aventura, was arrested in March 2021 and pleaded guilty to the horrific charges against him in July. He’ll now spend 272 months behind bars, NBC Miami reports.

Madden’s crimes were horrific. He admitted not only filming himself engaging in sexual activity with dogs but sharing that content online. In addition, he accessed, received, and stored child pornography images and videos and talked about child sexual abuse in many online chats.

He lost his job shortly after the investigation began. Caring Hands Animal Hospital, where Madden was employed as the medical director, fired him a few weeks before his arrest when they learned of the allegations and investigation. We at Caring Hands Animal Hospital are appalled by the nature of the charges against Prentiss Madden,” the hospital said in a statement after Madden was formally charged. “Our legal team and every single member of the Caring Hands family will be doing everything in our power to aid law enforcement and facilitate their investigation and prosecution.”

Those who knew Madden were shocked to learn of what he’d done. As animal advocate Lindsey Donzanti said at the time, no one could quite believe the truth about Madden. I’m still in a state of shock, disbelief, sadness. I truly cannot believe this,” she said, adding that she took her own animals to Madden on many occasions. “I was probably one of Dr. Madden’s first clients. I am a rescuer and I live in the area. I have promoted him countless times. This is incredulous. It is so sad. You just wonder who you can trust with your animals.”

His sentence was welcome news to those who worked to put him behind bars. Juan Antonio Gonzalez, Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida; Anthony Salisbury, Special Agent in Charge, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Miami Field Office; and Alfredo Ramirez, III, Director, Miami Dade Police Department, announced the sentence. Both Miami Dade Police Department and HSI Miami worked together to investigate the case and were assisted by Hialeah Police Department, U.S Customs and Border Protection, and Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

‘Nasty’ Woman Hacked Into Ex’s Alexa Speaker To Threaten And Insult His New Girlfriend

A British woman was convicted in court of using an Amazon Echo device to harass his ex’s new partner. Phillippa Copleston-Warren, 46, from London, had access to the device in her ex’s home some 100 miles away in Lincolnshire and hacked Alexa to repeatedly insult the new woman he’s dating, BBC News reports. She also posted a nude photo of her ex-boyfriend online.

She only had access to the device because of her dog. Copleston-Warren’s dog was staying at her ex’s place and was under his care after it got medical treatment in October 2019. In order to check on the animal, she was given joint access to the CCTV cameras at the property as well as the Alexa system.

Coplestone-Warren wanted to harass her ex’s new girlfriend. She used Alexa to say “get the whore out” when the woman entered his bedroom, Isleworth Crown Court heard during the trial. She also sent other threatening voice messages and switched the bedside light on and off repeatedly and sent other threats via WhatsApp.

She directed plenty of harassment towards her ex, as well. Coplestone-Warren locked her ex out of his Facebook and Match.com accounts and sent out nasty messages from his accounts to his new girlfriend. She then posted a nude photo of her ex online with the caption: “Do I look fat?”

Coplestone-Warren at least pleaded guilty to what she’d done. At sentencing this week, she admitted harassing her ex’s new girlfriend after previously having admitted disclosing private sexual images with intent to cause distress. “Judge John Denniss said: “I have no doubt that at the time of the offense you were concerned about your dog and the operation it had just had. But I am not convinced at all that that was the primary or the only factor that was causing you personal distress. There was an element which was nasty, of jealousy, of revenge, and irrational behavior which led to fury-like behavior in you. I use the word because it reminds me of the aphorism, ‘Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned,’ and here there are elements of that fury.”

Coplestone-Warren was sentenced to three months in prison, suspended for a year. She’s also subject to a seven-year restraining order.

Demi Lovato Says We Should Stop Calling Extraterrestrials ‘Aliens’ Because It’s Offensive

Demi Lovato has some very… interesting opinions that they’ve been voicing lately, but their latest outcry is perhaps one of the most bizarre yet. The ‘Dancing with the Devil’ singer is campaigning against the idea of referring to extraterrestrial beings as “aliens” as they believe it’s extremely offensive to those who visit us from other planets. This despite the fact that the term has been used for many decades and is referring to beings that arguably don’t even exist.

Yes, calling other human beings “aliens” can be offensive. Referring to immigrants or refugees as “aliens” has a certain connotation that can be offensive as it implies that they don’t belong and are “othered.” However, using this term for, you know, mythical creatures of which there’s no proof they even exist (don’t tell Demi Lovato that) is a whole other matter.

Demi thinks we just need to call them extraterrestrials or ETs. When discussing visitors to Earth from other planets, we should welcome them by simply referring to them with more neutral language rather than using the term “aliens” even though any beings from other planets likely won’t even know what the hell “aliens” means or even think or speak in the same way we do here on Earth.

So why does Demi feel this way? As they told Pedestrian.TV in a recent interview, Demi said they think that the word “alien” is derogatory in any context, so it should be avoided at all costs. “I really think that if there was anything out there that would want to do that to us, it would have happened by now,” they said. “But, I think that we have to stop calling them aliens because aliens is a derogatory term for anything. That’s why I like to call them ETs! So yeah, that’s a little tidbit. A little information that I learned.”

By the way, Demi has a new TV show about extraterrestrials coming out. It’ll be on Peacock TV and it’s called Unidentified with Demi Lovato. The show follows Demi and their friend Matthew and their sister Dallas while they look for “the truth about the UFO phenomena.” Hopefully, if they find anything, the ETs will be impressed at their welcoming, inclusive language.

Woman Says Her Pet Toucan’s Extreme Separation Anxiety Means She Can’t Ever Go On Vacation

Published

A woman who adopted a pet toucan two years ago has admitted she struggles witn looking after the bird at times. Janelle Tsao, 35, took Touki into her home in Los Angeles but the animal’s severe separation anxiety has meant that she can’t leave him alone in the house and hasn’t been on vacation since she got him.

Toucans only bond with one human. As birds, toucans are monogamous both in terms of mating and the humans that they bond with. This means that whenever Janelle leaves the room, Touki will “croak call or screech loudly” until she comes back, however long it takes. “It can be very annoying, like a screaming parrot,” she said.

Having Touki is like having a child. Toucans aren’t small birds, so having such a large one in the house poses its challenges. “It’s like having a child, he’s beautiful, intuitive and always curious,” Janelle explains. “These birds are like flying toddlers or monkeys – they will get into everything. Yesterday, I was chopping tomatoes and placed them in a bowl with a lid, which he isn’t allowed to have, they’re too acidic. He flies down to the counter and lifted the lid and stole a tomato, then he flew up to the second floor of our loft and quickly swallowed it before I could even start climbing!”

His diet is pretty expensive. Touki doesn’t just eat plain birdseed – he eats lots of fresh and exotic fruits and vegetables including blueberries, palm dates, lychee, and sweet potatoes. This ends up costing about $80 a month.

Oh, and he poops a lot too. Apparently, toucans poop every five to 10 minutes, which is crazy! Touki tends to do it while he’s flying around the house, and Janelle shares it can be “any color of the rainbow.” This means they’ve had to poo-proof most of the house. “We plasticize all of our couches, clean up any poops that don’t make the designated liners,” she said. “Caretaking for a toucan is high maintenance!”

Janelle wouldn’t recommend a toucan as a pet, but she loves Touki. She and her girlfriend, 40-year-old Arielle Zarutsky, saw him at a breeder’s in 2019 and fell in love with him. “Our hearts just melted. He was very quiet and I guess shy in the cage,” she recalled. “I think it’s because he was injured and he had scab like things in his feathers. I made the commitment right there, that I would do whatever it took to love and care for him. It was always a dream of mine to care for a toucan.”
