A young Nigerian man has raised an alarm over his brutal assault and harassment by police officers who identified themselves as Interpol.
According to him, a vehicle bashed his car – a Lexus, and just as he came down to inspect the damage, about 6 officers came out from the car that bashed him and accosted him.
He said they confiscated his phone and threatened to hand him to EFCC, but when he insisted on being taken to the anti-graft agency they slapped him, tore his clothes and forced him into their vehicle.
On their way to the office, the young man said they then decided to extort him, but he refused to give them any money and stood his ground.
They eventually took him to an isolated spot and dropped him off.
The man with Twitter handle @southpaw_king01 shared photos of his badly torn clothes and cried out for help.
He wrote; ”I was brutally harrased by police officers who claimed to be interpol on my way to Lagos from Ibadan.. I came down from my car when I noticed a strange car bashed me and they( 6 in total) came with guns and without much talks they said they will take me to Lokoja @SavvyRinu
I told them I won’t follow them until I contact someone first but they took my phones and said they will take me to @officialEFCC and I told them I will prefer that cos I was arrested and cleared to be clean by Efcc in May but they changed mind and forced me to enter their car That’s how one just came and rushed me with intensive slaps and upper cut and tore my shirt as I was struggling not to enter their van…
Omoo one kind mad slap hit me like this ehnn my brain just blanked and entered with tears in my eyes..I guess they later knew I was clean cos On our way to Efcc they just calmed down and asked me to do them normal and I blatantly denied giving them anything and they drove me to one bush in Ogere where they decided to let me go.. The same officers that are meant to protect us are the ones harrasing us.. I’m in pains
The most painful part was that people watched as I was being beaten on the road without doing anything.. Handcuffed like a criminal just cos I drive a Lexus.. This country saddens me daily”
Lewis Hamilton Wins Dramatic Saudi Arabian GP Despite Max Verstappen Crash With One Race Left
Lewis Hamilton won the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix to move level on points with Max Verstappen in the drivers’ standings in one of the all-time great Formula 1 races.
In one of the most incredible races in recent memory, the drivers were forced to return to the pits on TWO separate occasions after red flags were waved.
Prior to the first restart Verstappen led Hamilton having not yet pitted during the race.
Hamilton then looked to have passed Verstappen at the restart before the Dutchman went over the curb to try and defend the lead.
Verstappen was then penalised for the move but not before Sergio Perez and Nikita Mazepin crashed to signal another red flag.
A second restart then saw Verstappen come from behind Esteban Ocon and Hamilton to retake the lead.
But the Brit would eventually get back in front of his title rival in the latter stages of the race to move level on points in the standings.

“Who Does He Think He Is? He Was Losing Every Final Until Salah, Mane, Matip Came To His Rescue” – Senegal Boss Aliou Cisse Blasts Jurgen Klopp For Calling AFCON A Small Tournament
Senegal manager Aliou Cisse has hit back at Jurgen Klopp’s remarks over the African Cup of Nations (AFCON), suggesting the Liverpool manager owed his success to players from the continent.
Last month, the German caused a stir as he described the AFCON as a ‘small tournament’ following Liverpool’s 4-0 win over Arsenal.
Asked whether he was relieved there was no international break until March, Klopp replied: ‘I’ve heard that so often that there’s no international break until March.
Liverpool are set to lose several of their stars, including Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita for the tournament, which runs from January 9 until February 6 next year.
While Klopp subsequently backtracked, Cisse felt he had showed a lack of respect for the tournament and had a swipe at the German’s track record before he managed the likes of Salah and Mane.
‘Who does he think he is? I manage Senegal and my players play for Klopp at Liverpool,’ he told broadcaster iTV Senegal.
‘I respect Liverpool but not Klopp who undermines African football events. He is where he is today because of African footballers.
‘He was losing every final until Salah, Mane, Matip came to his rescue to win his first-ever major European final.’
Cisse, who played in the Premier League with Birmingham City and Portsmouth, pointed out that the AFCON featured the same number of teams as the Euros – 24 – and the quality was just as good.
Speaking after Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Porto in the Champions League last week, Klopp clarified his comments had been misinterpreted.
‘I didn’t mean it like that. I don’t know why you understand it like that,’ he told a journalist, who had suggested his comments had offended African players and fans.
‘It’s not even close to the idea in my mind that I want to talk about AFCON as a little tournament, or the continent of Africa like a little continent, not at all.
“What I meant is, because people said, and if you watch the full press conference, if you wanted to understand it in the right way you could have understood it in the right way.’
The Liverpool boss refuted the suggestion the AFCON was not on the same level of its other continental counterparts.
‘There’s still a tournament. A big one. We lose our best players to the Africa Cup of Nations,’ he continued.
‘I’m not a native speaker, but if you want to understand me wrong you can do that all the time. I know that I would never think like this.’
