Flavio Hlabangwane, the Soweto man charged with murder after body parts were discovered in his refrigerator, is accused of attacking the dead during a drug-induced rage.

Hlabangwane, 26, appeared in Protea Magistrates Court yesterday, where he is facing murder charges after discovering a ghastly set of human limbs and legs in a freezer section in his refrigerator in Protea Glen on November 13.

Two law enforcement sources familiar with the inquiry told the local news Sowetan yesterday that Hlabangwane allegedly used a combination of narcotics, including methcathinone (commonly known as kat), a stimulant medication that speeds up the transmission of impulses between the brain and the body, and cocaine.

“According to this guy, he got into an altercation with the dead and hit her, leading her to fall to the ground and strike her skull.” “At the time, he stated that he had taken kat and cocaine on the day of the crime,” the officer said.

Another officer stated that Hlabangwane used narcotics to cope with the stress of being the lone breadwinner.

“He stated that he frequently purchases these medicines from Zola. “He stated he was stressed because he was the sole provider for his family, and that made it worse for him because he was under constant stress,” the officer said
Although the exact time of the crime is unknown, the official stated that Hlabangwane reportedly murdered his victim three weeks before being discovered by his new lover.

“He stated he didn’t remember the exact date of the incident, but that it was three weeks before the body pieces were discovered.”

The identity of the deceased remains unknown, and police said the limbs, along with a head portion presumed to be part of the missing body, have been transferred to a forensic laboratory for identification verification.

The court heard Monday that Hlabangwane attempted suicide the morning before his trial.
During his second visit, news of his suicide attempt broke.

Hlabangwane’s attorney, Gift Mcube, told the court that he would present the request to the 26-year-old watchdog the next time he appeared in court for a psychiatric evaluation.

South Africans looking to fly with Emirates will have to wait a while longer.

Emirates has extended a ban on outbound flights from South Africa to 31 January.

Flight Centre has confirmed to eNCA that it received a notice from the Dubai-based airline indicating flights will likely resume on 1 February.

This is the airline’s fourth extension in under a month.

Air travel from the country was slapped with several bans following the discovery of the Omicron variant in November 2021.

But many countries, including EU nations, the United States, the UK, and Canada, have dropped their bans.

Vaccinate whole world to end pandemic, UN chief tells Davos

UN chief Antonio Guterres told the all-virtual Davos forum on Monday that the world must vaccinate everybody against COVID-19 to ensure a way out of the pandemic.

The face-to-face gathering of political and corporate power players in the Swiss Alps is online for the second year in a row due to a pandemic that shows no sign of abating.

“The last two years have demonstrated a simple but brutal truth — if we leave anyone behind, we leave everyone behind,” said the United Nations Secretary-General.

“If we fail to vaccinate every person, we give rise to new variants that spread across borders and bring daily life and economies to a grinding halt.”

Guterres said the international community needs to “confront the pandemic with equity and fairness.”

He noted that the World Health Organization unveiled a strategy last autumn to vaccinate 40 per cent of the planet’s population by the end of 2021 and 70 per cent by the middle of this year.

“We are nowhere near these targets,” Guterres told the World Economic Forum.

“Vaccination rates in high-income countries are, shamefully, seven times higher than in African countries. We need vaccine equity, now,” he added.

Guterres said pharmaceutical companies should “stand in solidarity with developing countries by sharing licenses, know-how and technology so we can all find a way out of this pandemic.”

Man Shares Heartbreak Experience After Marrying A Prostitute Who Refused To Change From Her Old Ways

Crying Blackman 3

A Nigerian man shared painful experience over his marriage to a runs girl (prostitute) who refused to change her ways despite being married and what hurt him the most is he has tried all his way to change the lady but no avail.

According to the man who pleaded anonymity, he fell in love with the lady and got married to her after she agreed to change her ways.

However, shortly after their marriage, she drifted away and went back to her runs girl lifestyle as she use to be before the msn got married to her.

He wrote:

“I fell in love with a runs girl and got married to her thinking she would change after our marriage, but believe me when I tell you I don see shege for this marriage.

This is the first time I will be opening up about my problems because I don tire. God punish love.

We met six years ago when I first had my new job. I was posted to her area and I happened to get a room in the same compound where she was living

Like play like play, from only greeting, we started sleeping over at each other’s rooms till I gave in and fell in love with this young lady.

I asked her where she usually goes to at night. And she opened up that she’s a runs girl. Out of love, I counselled her, told her I’m in love with her and she agreed to change for me.

We became lovers, planned wedding and finally got married. Just immediately after we got married , this girl started seeing other men again as she use to do before I met her.

The most annoying part is, she’s not discrete about it. She would tell me to my face – “you knew I was a runs girl before you decided to marry me, so why are you now complaining?”

She sleeps over at different men’s houses, comes back home drunk and threatens to leave me and the kids if I continue to complain about her kind of lifestyle. I am fed up. I don’t know what to do. This isn’t what I bargained for”. thanks for reading. What’s your advice to this young man?
