Kim Kardashian credited her estranged husband, Kanye West, for “introducing her to the fashion world” in a speech at the People’s Choice Awards.
The beauty mogul and reality TV star, 41, was presented with the Fashion Icon award by actor Tracee Ellis Ross at the annual ceremony on Tuesday 7 December.
In a speech, Kardashian thanked several designers for supporting her including Zac Posen, who dressed her the first time she attended the CFDA Fashion Awards, and Riccardo Tisci and Oliver Rousteing.
Kardashian said they had “really believed” in her but were “probably talked into it by getting a call from Kanye”.
“Thank you to Kanye even, for really introducing me to the fashion world. I fell in love with fashion, and I’m so inspired by so many people,” she said.
“This is like a dream that I get to wake up and wear these amazing clothes and try new things, take a risk, I’m so humbled, thank you so much.”
Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February, more than six years after the pair wed in Florence, Italy in 2014.
The former couple share four children, North, 8, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2.
During her speech on Tuesday, Kardashian said she felt “humbled” to receive the accolade.
“I started off as a closet organiser and a stylist. So, the fact that I’m winning a fashion icon award, it’s like a pinch me moment,” she said.
“I have those every single day, that designers are willing to work with me. There was a time when they weren’t.”
One of Kardashian’s most famous clients during her days as a closet organiser was Paris Hilton.
In an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians in 2019, she expressed her gratitude for Hilton, saying that she would “do anything” for her.
She attended the ceremony wearing an all-black look from Balenciaga’s Spring 2022 ready-to-wear collection.

Alexis Skyy Says Woman Who Alleges She Was Scammed Has Refused Refund Three Times
A woman named Jumeika Davis alleges Alexis Skyy scammed her out of $1,150 for a stay at Alexis’ former recovery house used to assist women recovering from plastic surgery.
Davis took the issue to social media, first
making a TikTok explaining that she paid for a premium suite that would allow her to bring someone with her. But she alleges she was told she couldn’t, and the info on the now-deleted site was wrong.
Initially claiming her policy stated “no refund,” Alexis Skyy decided to give Davis her money back through CashApp. While Davis claimed she wanted a refund, she declined the money and returned it to Alexis.
Alexis stated, “Here is my official statement about a business venture I’m no longer attached to. This business had a strict no refund policy, but ultimately, my team and I decided to distribute a FULL REFUND.” She continued, “Our full refund was denied, however, my team and I attempted to make right of this situation.
Davis took to Instagram Live and stated she declined the money because she wanted “justice.” She also alleged Skyy “is a habitual liar” and “scammer.”
Davis went on to say that she plans to go to court, insinuating she would file a lawsuit against Alexis.

Bill Cosby’s Spokesperson Defends His Legacy By Calling The Upcoming Documentary ‘We Need To Talk About Cosby’ A “PR Hack”
When it comes to Bill Cosby, his team does everything to prevent his legacy from being tarnished. Currently, the team is working overtime ahead of a new four-part documentary, ‘We Need To Talk About Cosby,’ airing on January 30th. The documentary by stand-up comedian and TV host W. Kamau Bell, details the downfall of Bill. He was once portrayed as America’s Dad, in his role as Cliff Huxtable on The Cosby Show, before his image was changed due to being exposed for alleged acts of sexual assault.
The documentary premiering on Showtime is what Bill’s spokesperson calls a “PR hack,” according to People in a statement made on Wednesday. “Let’s talk about Bill Cosby. Mr. Cosby has spent more than 50 years standing with the excluded; made it possible for some to be included; standing with the disenfranchised, and standing with those women and men who were denied respectful work because of race and gender … within the expanses of the entertainment industries.”
The statement continues, “Let’s talk about Bill Cosby. Mr. Cosby continues to be the target of numerous media that have, for too many years, distorted and omitted truths … intentionally. Despite media’s repetitive reports of allegations against Mr. Cosby, none have ever been proven in any court of law.” Bill’s court cases have been interesting to follow along. If you recall his 2018 case, Bill was found guilty on three counts of aggravated indecent assault after Andrea Constand said he had drugged her and sexually assaulted her in his Elkins Park, Pa., home in 2004. Ultimately Bill was sentenced to three to 10 years for the crime.
However, he maintains his innocence. His spokesperson called out the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court, adding, “Let’s talk about Bill Cosby. In June 2021, the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court released Mr. Cosby, and the court’s Chief Justice defined the Pennsylvania Montgomery County District Attorney’s behavior as reprehensible.”
Roommates, do you think Bill Cosby’s image is under attack?

Women put themselves under pressure to attract men – Kiddwaya
Big Brother Naija 2020 contestant, Terseer Waya aka Kiddwaya, has stated that women put themselves under pressure to attract men.
He made the statement during an Instagram Live session with his long-time friend and celebrity Disc Jockey, DJ Cuppy as he urged ladies to be okay about being natural.
DJ Cuppy had lamented that young people were being too superficial, as she revealed that she felt insecure about her people viewed her haircut.
“I feel like as Nigerians and young black people, we need to stop being so on the surface. We are putting ourselves under too much pressure. Even with make-up, lashes, we cannot kill ourselves. Even weight is a thing,” DJ Cuppy said.
Kidd then chipped in; “Let’s bring back being natural. It is okay to have short hair, short nails. It is okay not to wear heels when going out”.
He also said that a lot of women are under pressure to look beautiful and smashing. He said even though they claim that they do it for themselves, they do it to attract the kind of guy that loves such things.
Cuppy replied that she would prefer to be real. She also believes that sharing her real self in her relationship will keep it going in the good days and the bad days.
Kiddwaya added; “Girls, you have to power to control the narrative. If a lot of women decide to go natural, I think guys have no choice but to accept it. I remember about ten years ago, it was slim girls that men liked. When the Kardashians came on the scene, men began to look for women with curves and slim waists. I want someone with a big heart, that is the only thing I need.”
