Aregbe/Oyetola feud: APC reconciliation committee arrives Osun

The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Reconciliation Committee, on Saturday, arrived in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

The mission of the committee, it was revealed to DAILY POST, is to find a final resolution to the feud between Rauf Aregbesola, the Interior Minister and former governor of the state, and the incumbent, Adegboyega Oyetola.

DAILY POST also gathered that part of the mandate of the Senator Abdullahi Adamu-led committee is to resolve the issues lingering within the state chapter of the APC.

The committee is expected to meet both warring factions with a view to resolving the seeming unending feud which has divided the ruling party into two factions, The Osun Progressives (TOP) loyal to Aregbesola, and the Ilerioluwa camp loyal to the governor.

As at the time of filing this report, members of the committee were in a meeting with Oyetola.

Atiku, Lawan, Buni, Masari meet in Katsina

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was in Katsina State on Saturday for a condolence visit.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2019 presidential candidate visited the family of Dahiru Mangal, a business magnate

Hajiya Murja Bara’u, the 85-year-old mother of the tycoon, passed away on Thursday and was buried on Friday.

Atiku prayed that “Almighty Allah will comfort the family and grant her Aljannah Firdaus in paradise”.

He posted photos of interactions with Senate President, Ahmad Lawan; Yobe Governor, Mai Buni; and Katsina Governor, Aminu Masari.Atiku Masari

Mangal is bereaved for the second time in less than a year. His son, Nura, died in March 2021 in a bike accident.

Regarded as Katsina’s richest man, Mangal is the Chairman of Afdin Group, owners of Max Air, Afdin Petroleum, Afdin Construction, among others.

Tuface Idibia reacts to Davido, Wizkid’s reconciliation

Nigerian Music legend, Tuface Idibia has reacted to the reconciliation of Nigeria stars, Wizkid and Davido.

Davido and Wizkid on Friday hugged each other at a Lagos nightclub.

The duo also exchanged pleasantries as Wizkid whispered into Davido’s ears while they hugged for a long time.

The video which has gone viral has stirred reactions as fans went on social media rejoicing.

Tuface, reacting, took to his Instagram page to express joy for the reunion.

Angry youths on rampage in Yobe over alleged killing of truck driver by security operatives

Hundreds of youths have stormed streets of Gashu’a town, the headquarters of Bade local government area of Yobe State to protest the alleged killing of a young truck driver by security operatives.

The incident that Led to the death of the youth man occured in the late hours of Friday at Garin Alkali when the deceased went to a filling station to refuel his truck.

It was not clear what prompted the shooting of the young man by the security operatives but the development has in the early hours of Saturday caused a riot with hundreds of youths taking to the streets of Gashu’a town to riot.

The youths have blocked in and out of the town to show their anger and frustration and are burning tires.

As of the time of filing this report, Yobe State Police Command has kept mum over the incident as the Command’s PPRO couldn’t be reached for comments.

But reacting to the development, Yobe State Governor and Chairman APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Mai Mala Buni, has called on Youths in Gashu’a to calm down.

The Governor in a statement through his Spokesperson, Mamman Mohammed has already directed for immediate investigation into the matter for necessary action.

Buni described the incident as unfortunate, “especially now that we are recording progress in sustainable peace across the state”.

He said the government and the security authorities would not tolerate any act of recklessness capable of disrupting the hard earned peace.

“I, therefore, assure you that the government would properly investigate the matter and deal with it decisively.

“I, also, appeal to our good people of Bade local government area and the entire state to remain calm and law abiding.

“We should avoid anything detrimental to our peace. You are advised to be good Muslims and take it as the will of Allah and avoid bonfires on the roads”, Governor Buni said.

“May Allah (SWT) forgive the deceased of his shortcomings, grant him Al Jannatul Firdaus and to his family, the fortitude to bear the loss”, Buni prayed.
