Unknown Gunmen: “Igbos Are Being Displaced By Their Own People” – Asari Dokubo

Former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, has criticised the activities of ‘unknown gunmen’ in the southeast region.
Newsbreak reports that the whole of Southeast and parts of South-south geo-political zones have come under severe attacks since 2021 by some faceless assailants popularly referred to as ‘unknown gunmen’. Public infrastructure, especially facilities of the police, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and others have become the prime target of this group just as several security personnel had lost their lives.
Lamenting the situation, Dokubo bemoaned the killing of Igbo people by their kinsmen, adding that separatist agitations should be non-violent.
“Igbos are becoming displaced people. Igbos are being displaced by their own people, wicked, evil devilish people. And then we are talking of DSS, Nigerian Army, is it only in Igboland that there is a struggle?
“Which progress have you made, other than the noise? And the Yorubas, the most criminal of people, who claim they are supporting you, and they hail you and you are happy,” Dokubo said in a Facebook Live monitored by this news medium.
