Nevertheless it wasn’t till the final day that they acknowledged one another; they’d sorta move one another within the corridor and kinda smile and nod their heads. On that final day, Geddy mentioned to his spouse, ‘I’ve gotta go over and simply thank him for what an ideal inspiration he was for me rising up as a musician.’ He went over to his desk — you understand, we’re all the time uncomfortable to do one thing like that — and he mentioned, ‘Excuse me, Robert, I simply needed to say…’, and [Robert] mentioned, ‘Oh, Geddy! Do sit down, let’s have a glass of wine! Lastly, I used to be ready so that you can come spherical!’ The next day once they noticed one another, Robert mentioned, ‘We’ll be in Toronto later this summer season. Carry Alex right down to the present. It could be nice to see you.’ So we went down. We went as much as the elevator, as much as the dressing-room flooring, and we have been chatting with Robert. He is such a beautiful particular person. In the course of the dialog he says, ‘Cling on, I am simply gonna go get Jimmy to return in and say hello.’ And I used to be like [gasping, shaking and stuttering] ‘[LED ZEPPELIN guitarist] Jimmy Web page? You imply Jimmy Web page?’ I could not consider it. He got here within the room. I used to be so nervous. However he was so gracious and so good. That is after I found it is all the time a much bigger deal in your personal thoughts than it’s while you meet any individual.”

Lifeson beforehand mentioned his assembly with Plant and Web page throughout a 2009 interview with Guitar World. He said on the time: “Of any guitarist, Jimmy Web page was my greatest affect. I needed to look, suppose and play like him. ZEPPELIN had a heavy affect on RUSH throughout our early days. Web page‘s free type of taking part in confirmed an immense confidence, and there are not any guidelines to his taking part in.

“I met Web page at a PAGE/PLANT live performance in Toronto in 1998. I used to be appearing like a child, all googly eyed. I used to be freaking out and my arms have been shaking. I used to be so thrilled to satisfy him as a result of his work meant a lot to me.”
