Apostle Johnson Suleman, the general overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, on Friday said he made a prayer for everyone involved in the case of former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, ‘because even Jesus Christ prayed for a confirmed thief on the cross’.

Newsbreak reports that reactions have continued to trail the arrest, detention and arraignment of Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice, in the United Kingdom (UK) over suspected organ harvesting.

This newspaper learned that Ekweremadu’s child has been suffering from kidney disease and needed a transplant. A donor was gotten and sent to the UK with the aim of providing a kidney.

Sources said the kidney however did not match that of Ekweremadu’s child.

Subsequently, the young donor was scheduled to return to Nigeria, but he refused to return, and instead reported to the UK police, to seek asylum.

Suleman had posted on social media that God be with the Ekweremadu family, to which some commenters fumed.

“I just made a prayer for all those involved in the issue of the former deputy senate president and I see reactions.. since you have become the law court, take your hate somewhere else and don’t join those I have blocked..even a confirmed thief on the cross, Jesus prayed for him,” the preacher wrote on his verified Twitter handle.
