On September 18, Daile Theater with Claire van Kampen’s plays “Farinelli and the King” the premiere of the production opened the new season. The play is given the genre designation “costume drama about the nature of music” and it was staged by the artistic director of Daile Theater, director Viesturs Kairšs. King Philip V is played by Đirts Ķesteris, Farinelli is played by Artūrs Skrastiņš, and Izabella Farnezi is played by Rēzija Kalniņa. In the production, the scenographer is Reinis Suhanovs, the costume designer is Kristīne Jurjāne, the music consultant is Juris Vaivods. Singer Rūdis Cebulis has been entrusted to sing works by George Frideric Handel accompanied by harp and cello played by Dace Zālīte-Zilberte and Ieva Šablovska.

Actors Kaspars Dumburs, Juris Bartkevičs also take part in the show, Artūrs Kaļķis plays the role of a child. On the stage next to the actors, there is another important element of the show – a horse, whose symbolic message is deeply important in the production. It is a marionette commissioned especially for this show in South Africa, which is led by actor Kārlis Arnolds Avots, Matīss Millers and Mārtiņš Gailis.
