We’re only a few weeks away from the Made by Google launch event scheduled for October 6. And Google showed off a lot early on, because we already know that the company will likely announce the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, along with the Pixel Watch. While there is a great deal of anticipation for the new Pixel phones, the Pixel Watch is definitely the most interesting one. It will be the first proper Wear OS watch made by Google. With expectations rising, a new leak has surfaced, indicating that the retail price of the new wearable will start at $349.99.
The news comes from 9to5Google, as the retail source has informed them of the retail price of the Pixel Watch. The price is $349.99 for the base model, which will have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. ... also reported last month that the cellular model will be priced at $399.99. Besides revealing the new price, the retail source also shared the different color combinations that will be available at launch. For the standard model, the watch will be available in black with an “Obsidian” strap, silver with a “Chalk” strap, and gold with a “Hazel” strap. As for the Cellular model, it will come in black with an “Obsidian” strap, silver with a “Charcoal” strap, and gold with a “Hazel” band.
If the color combinations reported are correct, it looks to match what we’ve seen with the new colors found in the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Despite the limited number of colors in the retail units, Google has plans to offer a wide range of ranges that can be purchased separately. While not much is known about the accessories, the new Pixel watches should include options such as color-matched Milanese straps, link bracelets, leather straps, fabric straps, and rubber straps.
While there is a degree of skepticism when it comes to leaks, 9to5Google He has a proven track record. This means that in all likelihood, the first outing of the Google smartwatch (which is said to have a very short battery life and an outdated chipset) will cost more than the recently announced Apple Watch SE 2. However, with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 being a bit cheaper, the Google Pixel Watch could end up selling hard.
