Confirming the incident, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hudenyin, said: “The report was received about 2.10 p.m., pn March 26, 2024, and the suspect was arrested and detained by the Police.
The Police in Lagos have arrested a man, who allegedly beat his wife to death in the Agege area of Lagos.
The deceased, Patience Johnson, 40, was confirmed dead yesterday, by doctors at the Orile- Agege General Hospital, two days after she was rushed there.
The deceased’s son, identified as Destiny, was said to have received a telephone call at about 1.40 a.m., on March 26, 2024, that his mother’s husband, Emmanuel Okpara, had beaten her to a stupor.
She was said to have been wounded in the process and was vomiting blood.
Destiny, who alerted policemen at the Elere division, said he rushed to his mother’s residence and took her to the Orile-Agege General Hospital, where she was admitted for Medicare.

“When the Divisional Police Officer visited the hospital to check the victim today (yesterday), the doctor on duty informed him that Patience Johnson gave up the ghost at about 6 a.m., on March 28, 2024.
“The corpse had been evacuated to Mainland General Hospital mortuary, Yaba, for autopsy. The investigation is ongoing.”
