From the body language of our leaders, particularly that of the North, they seemed powerless or nonchalantly sadistic to our plights. They have indirectly shown, if the masses have any alternative, they should take. That’s just our realistic state as a people.
Over a decade now, northern Nigeria has experienced horrible forms of insecurities ranging from Boko haram activities, banditry and students kidnappings. One BIG questions that remained unanswered in the minds of innocent, and intellectual people of the region is; who are the purveyors of these terrorists, and who would come to the rescue?
To begin with the first question, as a security layman-but one who always give a meticulous view of happenings in Nigeria, particularly North. I can vehemently agree that insecurities in the North is a conspiracy from a part of the world that got backing from some strong unpatriotic forces in the region. I believed this is a question that’s been echoing in the brains of, even illiterates in the North, that: why insecurity seemed to have no end, and who is supplying these horrors with these highly sophisticated weapons and informations, and as uneducated as the terrorists appeared, who is coaching them on how to operate them, and why the menace took so long to be tackled? This is question that has unambiguous answer that one can easily come up with a straight answer: some unscrupulous and unpatriotic citizens are behind this indeed!
One of the most disheartening part of this menace is bombing of schools and dislodging of the students from their dormitory by the said Boko haram. Many of this similar terrorists acts had happened on our schools across the North not just once but almost countless, and our government of different administration folds its arms waiting for God’s miracle to change the situations. Although, Boko haram are rarely claiming school children kidnappings but the real kidnappers or better said bandits. That’s a new dimension! The recent raid on a school was in Kaduna State, where the kidnappers met the students at their assembly ground and whisked them away. This is a strategy adopted by the terrorists and their handlers to cripple the “toddling” North’s education system and automatically recruit terrorists teenagers. And still the present administration and the leaders of the North shows no worry.
From the body language of our leaders, particularly that of the North, they seemed powerless or nonchalantly sadistic to our plights. They have indirectly shown, if the masses have any alternative, they should take. That’s just our realistic state as a people.
